Humanities 10
For our first project as a tenth grader. We had to work of memoirs. A historical account or biography written from personal knowledge or special sources, I decided to do my story on the first trip on a airplane heading to Santa Ana, El Salvador. The fact that I understood a missing puzzle piece of who I am, half Salvadoran from my mama's side. We worked on the memoir since the entering of 10th grade. We had many reasons of receiving feedback, to improve on our memoir and I took to whatever opinions and corrections in the feedback to apply into my memoir. We also had mini lessons, and learned about so what, which includes the following: looks for and finds the meanings, the significance, the implications, in the subject we chose. Also, it always finds something to think about, like " no tears in the writer, no tears in the reader." The other mini lesson was based on can a reader, see it, feel it, and hear it. it includes the following: the words create sensations as I am seeing, hearing, and feeling the experience. We had to color coded the draft with the sentences that included the see it, fee it, and hear it. I worked on my memoir every time I was given specific cool feedback to correct. At first my memoir was based on my inspiration on learning Spanish, but after meeting with my teacher, Noel, she got a different perspective from reading my memoir, living my culture. Computer Science
For this class we have been working on an app, on App Inventor. I had to be based on my memoir with different ending alternatives. In Chemistry, we learned about neurotransmitters, so I based my story on oxytocin, dopamine, and aceytocholine. I decided to make a story formation, I start with the splash page, I decided to do the honors option. After the viewer pressed the start button, the viewer will be going to the intro where I explain the project to the viewer and the NT's I will be focused on. When they press the next button they will learn about oxytocin, and a breif passage explanation of what really happened in my memoir. After the viewer pressed the next button it went to the following where the alternate endings are at, when my story ends a different way. I that neurotransmitter is enhanced or inhibited. It will be the same process, throughout the whole app with the other NTs. It just ends with the full link of my full memoir, and picture, and a button that goes back to the splash page. The requirements are the following, the app had to have pictures, sound, never ending, and it had to have a different way of changing from slide to slide. MATH 10
For Math 10, we had to do a essay on patterns and make functions. I know an essay in math class, well yes, It where we typed about the discoveries we found in the paint pattern cubic, and a pattern we picked separately. I decided to submit a re submission of the essay, because the class didn't include all the requirements in their essay and at the beginning of the year we didn't have much knowledge in the making functions on patterns we found. I decided to do a snowflake pattern. These are the requirements for this assignment:
- Show that I have a deep understanding to represent in multiple ways.
- all the key features are correctly identified
- Includes evidence(written, graphical)
- revisions/attention to detail/
- MLA format
- Tables/graphs
- Turned in on time, in the correct way.
CHEMISTRY
For Chemistry, we have been learning about neurotransmitters. The happy chemicals we all have endorphin, dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. We had to read a book based on the chemicals of humans and animals. So for the assignment for this class we did a lab. The poison lab, where as a group we came up with an experiment to discover which liquid had the poison between the three vitamin waters. We decided to do our lab based on boiling each liquid, to find out which one had the poison. We wrote down each observation we found, while the boiling process. We focused on determining the unknown liquid by the boiling point plus the reactions within the three liquids. Here is the link of the final lab report. Link
