DVC XAs the class of freshmen at DVC we did our own Ted X event. We had to do different projects for each class. TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global set of conferences run by the private non-profit Sapling Foundation, under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading". TED was founded in 1984 as a one-off event; the annual conference series began in 1990. But we changed a few things because we made it on our own style.

English Project
In English we have been working on what we wanted to change in the world. Something to tell people to do to make an action on any topic. Moreover, giving them a different prospective over something. I did my ted talk on how time is valuable. How we run from one place to another always busy doing our regular activities and sometimes we forget to be with family or just do those things we don't take as granted. Like we are to stuck on screen devices and don't realize others want time with us. Here is a link to my ted talk google document. DVCX. Well, we voted for who would present there talk so I didn't have the majority of votes. As a result, I had the chance to video tape the event which was very fun.
Engineering and Design, Physics
In this class we had to work on a experiment that was based on Newton's 1st law. My group and I did our project on the famous experiment the egg drop.
Well, what you see in these pictures is the project that my group and I were working on to present at DVCx. Basically what you have to do is hit the pie plate side ways as fast as you can and the goal is for the egg to fall into the cup of water. This was based on newton's 1st law, which means a object stays in motion unless acted upon an outside force. There is another experiment related to the egg drop. It's the one where there's a table with a cloth over it with plates on top and you have to remove the table cloth and the goal is that the plates will till be on the table. Are you familiar with it? As a group we had to explain this project at DVCx to inform on Newton's 1st law.
Computer Science
In my next project as a class we learned about How to Lie with Statistics" we had to read some chapters to understand how to add a statistic into our ted talk. Here is a link if you'll like to read this book on "How to Lie with Statistics" which is the name of the book. Well, now you can see my method and what I thought about. My method. I also did a survey on a group of people asking if they felt like they had enough time. The response were Yes, twenty four hours is not enough, No, I have lots of time, and I feel that a day goes by slow because I got nothing to do. The responses were 6 out of 10 said yes. 2 out of 10 said No and 1 person said they felt that they felt that a day goes by slow. survey
